A 17-year-old minor suspected of carrying out a grenade attack at a bar in Grenoble on February 12, which injured 15 people, including six seriously, has been formally charged. The suspect, who was arrested on Wednesday near Grenoble in possession of a shotgun, initially confessed to the attack but later retracted his statement. However, the prosecutor stated that investigators have gathered sufficient evidence to charge him. The charges include "attempted murder as part of an organized group" and illegal possession of weapons. The suspect, who has no prior convictions, was placed in pretrial detention following his formal charging. The attack occurred at the L'Aksehir bar in the Village Olympique neighborhood, where an armed man detonated a fragmentation grenade before fleeing. The incident has raised concerns about rising violence linked to organized crime in the area.
